Habari Conservation Organization (HCO) was established as a bottom to top approach to community for environment initiative goals in Tanzania mainland. This modelling has worked best whereby everyone in the community is a member ambassador advocating to better environment. HCO has its origins in the Dodoma. works hand in hand addressing environment challenges in their community.
The following is a detail of how the environment program will function. At least five trainers will be trained in each community so that they can carry forward the programme for one year of the program and after handling over to the government, since they will be member of a particular community.
The community will be trained on Basic Environment program so that they can take part and carry forward the programme after the project even after handover period. They will be assisted by the Environment Trainer for a period of one year.
Trainers will be identified, trained and certified for the purpose before they are allowed to initiate training. Each community will have a part time trainer for this purpose. There will be one Project Head for the program who will supervise the community and work hand in hand with HCO.
